Before Your First Visit
A sixty minute Reiki session is the most common first appointment and the one Rene suggests when people are unsure. If sixty minutes feels like a lot, the Nervous System Reboot is thirty minutes and asks nothing of you at all.
Comfortable clothes you can lie down and relax in, and layers are useful since people run warm or cold once they stop moving. Remove belts and bulky items before you start. If you are coming from work and want to change, call ahead so the office can make space for it.
For energy work, no. Reiki, IET, chakra balancing, the Nervous System Reboot and meditation training are all done fully clothed. The exceptions are facials and the massage portion of a combination treatment, which work as you would expect.
No, and plenty of clients arrive sceptical. Nothing here requires you to sign up to a belief system first. Treat the framework as a way of organising the work and judge it on how you feel afterwards.
A few minutes early for a first appointment so the check in is not rushed. Every session starts with a short conversation about what brought you in, and that conversation is what shapes the rest of it.
Booking
The quickest way is the online booking calendar, which takes about a minute. If you would rather someone did it with you, call 631-888-9029. If you reach voicemail, leave a message. Rene is usually with a client rather than ignoring you.
Combination treatments run across two practitioners and multiple rooms. Tarot readings and chakra balancing have flexible lengths. Those are arranged by phone so the booking actually fits what you need rather than forcing you into a fixed block.
For meditation training, yes, at the same rate for up to two people. At three or more it becomes a group class at a lower cost per person. Treatments are one to one, though you are welcome to book back to back appointments.
Call or text 631-888-9029 as early as you can. Classes and workshops are the tightest, since places are capped at twelve and paid at registration, so give as much notice as possible if you cannot make one.
More often than people expect. Sunday is listed as by request rather than closed, and evenings can sometimes be arranged. Text Rene or check the booking calendar for what is genuinely available.
Payment
A deposit is taken at booking and the balance is due at the appointment. Classes and workshops are the exception and are paid in full at registration to hold your place. The packages and rates page lists the current deposit amount for each service.
Credit cards and cash at the time of the appointment, along with HSA and FSA payments. Ask when you book if you want to pay another way.
Yes, both are accepted. It is worth checking with your plan administrator that they allow the specific service, because coverage rules vary between plans and the responsibility sits with you rather than the practice.
Not for Reiki. It is not regulated in New York the way acupuncture and massage are, so insurers do not cover it. Acupuncture and massage may be covered, and those run through The Balance Health and Wellness Center at 631-225-2623, who can check your plan and bill it properly.
Ask when you buy. Packs are purchased outright and used across future appointments, and the office confirms the terms at the time so there are no surprises later.
A fifteen minute tarot reading is the lowest commitment on the menu. For hands on work, the thirty minute Nervous System Reboot is the shortest and least expensive treatment. Every price is on the rates page.
During and After
No. There is a short check in at the start so Rene knows what she is working with, and after that nothing is expected. Several people book specifically because it asks nothing of them conversationally.
It varies more than people expect. Some feel warmth, some coolness, some a light vibration. Some fall asleep. Some cry without quite knowing why. Some notice very little in the room and a great deal the next day.
That happens and it is not a failure. Sensation during a session is not the measure of whether anything shifted. What matters more is how the following few days go, which is why people are usually encouraged to give it more than one appointment before deciding.
Most people leave relaxed and lifted. Occasionally someone feels tired, headachy or a little off for a day afterwards as the body settles. If that happens, drink more water, eat lightly and rest. It usually passes quickly.
It depends entirely on what you are working with. Sometimes one session settles it. Four sessions is a reasonable window to judge whether it is doing something for you. Plenty of clients then come periodically as maintenance rather than treatment, which is what the multi session packs are built for.
No, and you should not. Everything here is designed to sit alongside medical and psychological care rather than replace it. None of it diagnoses or treats a medical condition. Keep seeing your licensed providers and mention anything you are managing at the check in.
The Practice
Rene D'Antona performs every service herself. She is a Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy practitioner who spent over two decades inside The Balance Health and Wellness Center before training. Massage and acupuncture come through that same practice.
Suite 2 at 672 North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst, inside The Balance Health and Wellness Center, a few minutes from Sunrise Highway. Full directions are on the contact page.
Regularly. Clients travel in from Babylon, West Babylon, Copiague, Amityville, Deer Park and across the South Shore. Some drive from further out for the modalities that are hard to find locally, particularly Integrated Energy Therapy.
Yes. The Teen Radiance Facial is designed specifically for teen skin, and meditation training suits a parent and teenager attending together. Call to discuss anything else.
Yes. IET practitioner training is a two and a half day certification class covering three levels, aimed at energy workers adding a modality. Meditation training teaches you a practice to keep on your own.
No. Everything offered here is wellness and relaxation work. It does not diagnose or treat medical conditions and is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
No questions match that. Try a different word, or just call 631-888-9029 and ask.

Still Unsure
Calling is genuinely faster
Most questions people write out are shorter said out loud. If you are trying to work out which service fits what you are dealing with, a two minute conversation will settle it better than any page here.
Nobody is going to steer you toward the expensive option. If the honest answer is that you should start with something cheaper, or with nothing at all yet, that is what you will be told.
