Sound Bath Healing
A sound bath asks nothing of you. You lie down, the bowls start, and the sound does the work. No technique to learn, no thoughts to quiet, nothing to get right. For anyone who has tried meditating and found sitting still unbearable, this is the way in.

What It Is
Sound you lie down inside rather than listen to
A sound bath uses singing bowls to fill a room with sustained, overlapping tones. You are not listening to music in the usual sense. The sound is long, low and continuous, and at volume you feel it in the body as much as you hear it.
That physical quality is the point. There is nothing to follow and nothing to concentrate on, which means the mind runs out of things to do and settles on its own rather than being told to.
It also goes by other names. Clients here call it sound bath, sound bowl healing, and sound bowl immersion, all describing the same thing.
Choose This When
- Sitting still is the problem. You lie down, so it is not asked of you
- You have tried meditating and quit. Nothing here depends on technique
- You want company. Sound baths run as group sessions rather than one to one
- You are curious but sceptical. Lowest commitment thing on the menu
- You already have a practice and want something that goes further than it does
Your First One
What actually happens
Less complicated than people expect, which is most of the appeal.
You get comfortable
Lying down, fully clothed, usually with something over you. Bring layers, since bodies cool once they stop moving.
The bowls begin
Rene plays through the session while you do nothing at all. The tones build and overlap, and after a few minutes most people stop tracking them.
You come back slowly
The sound tapers rather than stops, with quiet at the end before anyone moves. Nobody is expected to talk about it afterwards.
Booking
Sound baths run as scheduled sessions
Sound baths are held as group sessions rather than private appointments, so dates go up alongside the rest of the class schedule. Check what is running, or call and Rene will tell you when the next one is and what it costs.
Who Runs It
Sound work sits alongside everything else here
Rene D'Antona describes sound bowl experiences as one of the things her practice grew into, alongside meditation, workshops and retreats, after starting with Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy.
That matters more than it sounds. Sound baths at a lot of places are a standalone novelty. Here they sit within a practice where the same person also runs meditation training and Reiki sessions, so there is somewhere to go next if it lands for you.
Clients travel to the Lindenhurst office from across the Town of Babylon and the South Shore.
Where It Fits
- Private meditation training if you want to learn a practice rather than receive one
- Nervous System Reboot for the same passive quality in thirty minutes, one to one
- Reiki Healing when you want hands on energy work
- Retreats where sound work runs alongside a longer format
- Every rate is on the packages page
Questions
Frequently asked questions
None whatsoever. A sound bath is the one thing here with no learning curve. You lie down and receive it. People who have never done anything like this before are the most common attendees.
Comfortable clothes you can lie down in, and layers. Bodies cool once they stop moving, so people who run cold usually want something extra. Ask when you book what is provided and what to bring.
Yes. Sound bath, sound bowl healing and sound bowl immersion all describe the same session. Clients use all three names, which is worth knowing if you are searching for it.
Plenty of people do, and it is not a problem. If you fall asleep during a sound bath it usually means you needed it. Nothing is missed and nothing is wasted.
Group. Sound baths are scheduled sessions rather than private appointments, which is part of why they are an easier first thing to try. If you want one to one work, Reiki or the Nervous System Reboot are the closest equivalents.
At the Lindenhurst office on North Wellwood Avenue, inside The Balance Health and Wellness Center. Dates appear on the classes and workshops schedule.
Begin
Lie down and let it happen
Check what is on the schedule, or call and ask when the next sound bath is running. It is the least you have to commit to and the most people tend to be surprised by.
