Meditation at 5 Elements Energy

Meditation is the one thing here you eventually do without us. Everything else is a session you book. This is a practice you learn, take home, and keep, whether you start on your own with Rene or alongside other people in a class.

Who is coming with you?

The format and the rate both change depending on whether you come alone or bring people. This is the part most people do not expect.

Private Meditation Training

A one to one introductory session teaching you how to actually begin. Techniques, the obstacles that stop most people, and the tools to use when you practise alone at home. Paced entirely to you.

Per Session$95

Nothing to learn and nothing to do. You lie down and let sound carry the session, which makes it the easiest first experience for anyone who finds sitting still difficult.

Group classes at the Lindenhurst office, or off site at your own location. Capped so everyone still gets attention rather than a room full of strangers.

Why Bother

What meditation actually does

One of the most powerful tools available for managing physical and emotional health, and the only one that is free once you know how.

01

Better emotional regulation

Meditation alleviates anxiety, reduces depression, and enhances emotional regulation. Exploring your thoughts through mindfulness lets you identify negative patterns of thinking and learn to let go of them. You are training the brain to be more self aware and present, which means more control over your emotions.

02

Reduced stress levels

Regular practice lowers the body's baseline stress response rather than simply managing it in the moment. Over time that shows up as a longer fuse, fewer things that feel urgent, and a system that is not running at full volume by default.

03

Improved cognitive function

Meditation increases brain connectivity in areas related to attention, decision making, and working memory. It improves the ability to regulate attention and reduces the stress that interferes with learning and memory. Mindfulness meditation can also increase grey matter in areas associated with self awareness, empathy, and compassion.

04

Better sleep

Sleep is essential to physical and mental health, and many people struggle to get a good night's rest. Meditation improves sleep quality, and regular practice has been shown to increase the amount of deep sleep you get. One study found that people practising mindfulness based stress reduction showed significant improvements in their sleep patterns.

05

Spiritual growth

For many people meditation is more than a relaxation tool. It is a path to spiritual growth and self discovery, connecting you with a deeper sense of purpose and meaning, and cultivating inner peace, compassion, and empathy towards others.

06

Something you keep

Every other service here needs an appointment. This one needs a few minutes a day once you know what you are doing, which is the entire reason the training exists rather than just the classes.

The Honest Part

Most people who try meditation quit

They quit because nobody showed them how. The instruction is usually some version of clear your mind, which is not a technique, and when the mind refuses to clear the obvious conclusion is that you are bad at it.

That is what the training sessions are actually for. Not sitting quietly in a room with someone, but being taught the techniques, warned about the obstacles before you hit them, and pointed at the tools that help when you are on your own and it is not working.

If sitting still is the part you cannot face, start with a sound bath instead. Nothing is asked of you there but to lie down.

Common Obstacles

  • My mind will not stop. It is not supposed to. Noticing that it wandered is the practice
  • I do not have time. A few minutes is a real session, not a consolation prize
  • I fall asleep. Usually a sign of sleep debt rather than bad technique
  • I cannot sit still. Then do not. Position is negotiable
  • I do not know if it is working. The most common reason people stop right before it starts to
I have been attending five elements classes for a year this coming February. I have found them to be very helpful. The meditation classes are relaxing and very professionally done.

Who Teaches It

Someone who needed it herself first

Rene D'Antona came to meditation alongside Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy, during a stretch when the physical work had cleared what it could and something emotional was still sitting there. It is one of the three practices she credits with closing that gap.

She teaches it the way she learned it, which means starting from the assumption that you will find it hard rather than that you should find it easy.

Sessions and classes run from the Lindenhurst office, and group classes can also be held at your own location. Clients come from across the Town of Babylon and the South Shore.

Also Worth Knowing

  • Retreats build meditation into a longer format alongside other practice
  • Nervous System Reboot uses breath cues if you want the effect without the homework
  • Reiki pairs well with a meditation practice and is often booked alongside it
  • Every rate is listed on the packages page

Questions

Frequently asked questions

That is the most common thing people say before booking, and it is usually a technique problem rather than an aptitude problem. The training sessions exist because the standard advice, clear your mind, is not actually instructions. Being taught properly changes the experience for most people.

None. The training is introductory by design and the classes assume no background. If you have an established practice and want to go deeper, say so when you book and the session will be pitched there instead.

The training is one or two people and paced entirely to you. The classes are three or more, cost less per person, and have the benefit of practising alongside other people, which some find easier than doing it alone.

Yes. Group classes can be held off site at your own location for three or more people, at a different rate than the Lindenhurst sessions. Call to arrange it.

Varies enormously. Some people feel calmer after a single session. For most the useful change is in what happens between sessions, which takes a few weeks of short daily practice to show up. That is exactly why the training focuses on what you do at home rather than what happens in the room.
