Energy Healing / Integrated Energy Therapy
Integrated Energy Therapy (IET)
Integrated Energy Therapy works at the cellular memory level of the energy field, which is where longer standing emotional material tends to settle rather than pass through. It is the reason clients who have already tried other energy work come here for something that reaches further.
What It Is
Developed in the 1980s, and still uncommon on Long Island
Integrated Energy Therapy was created by Stevan J. Thayer in the 1980s. It works by accessing the body's energy field, sometimes described as the chakras or the aura, and clearing blockages and imbalances found there.
The technique borrows elements from acupressure, reflexology, and Reiki, delivered through a set sequence of gentle hand positions. IET's own phrase for what it does is releasing issues from your tissues, and that is a fair description of the intent.
Most Reiki practitioners in the area do not offer IET. Rene both practices it and certifies other practitioners in it, which is rarer still.
The Difference
Where IET aims
Energy work happens at different depths. Select a layer to see what each one reaches.
Surface Layer
The Body
Where tension shows up first. Tight shoulders, a jaw that will not unclench, sleep that keeps breaking. Massage and bodywork do their best work here, and so does a nervous system reset when the problem is mostly physical.

Your Session
What happens in an IET session
Sixty to ninety minutes, depending on the level you book.
You stay dressed
You lie comfortably on a treatment table, fully clothed. Nothing is removed and nothing is asked of you beyond settling in.
The field is read
Rene begins by assessing the energy field for blockages and imbalances, which is what determines where the rest of the session goes.
The sequence runs
A series of specific hand positions works to clear what was found and replace it with settled, positive energy.
What you may feel
Deep relaxation is the most common report, often with warmth or a light tingling. Some feel a great deal, some feel very little. Neither means it did not work.
Rates
Three levels, three rates
All three use the same technique. The level sets how deep a single appointment goes. If you are unsure, compare the levels here or start at Initial.
Initial
Start here if you have not had IET before
Focused
For when you know what you are working on
Advanced
Deepest of the three, for long carried material
Who Books It
Usually the second thing people try
Most clients arrive at IET after something else. A course of Reiki that helped but did not hold. Talk therapy that named the pattern without shifting it. A stretch of feeling better followed by the same thing returning.
That is the point at which the cellular memory framing tends to land, because it describes what people already suspect: that the thing they are carrying is older than the situation that triggered it.
You do not need prior experience to book IET. Plenty of people start here. It just tends to be chosen deliberately rather than stumbled into.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Both are hands on energy practices and IET borrows from Reiki among other things. The difference is depth and structure. Reiki works broadly across the energy field to settle the system. IET runs a specific sequence aimed at the cellular memory level, where older emotional material tends to sit. Reiki is the easier first appointment. IET is the one people choose when they want to reach further.
Initial, unless you have had IET before. It establishes what the field is holding without going deeper than a first visit should. Focused suits people working on something specific. Advanced is for long carried material and clients already some way into this work. If you are unsure, call and describe it.
No. You stay fully clothed for the entire session, lying on a treatment table. Wear something comfortable you can relax in.
It is gentle, non invasive, and suitable for people of all ages and levels of health. It is not medical care and does not treat disease, so keep seeing your licensed providers. Mention anything you are currently managing at the start of the session.
Yes. It works as a standalone session or alongside other modalities including massage and acupuncture. The combination treatments at the Lindenhurst office are built around exactly that, though those are scheduled by phone rather than online.
Yes. Rene runs a two and a half day certification class for energy workers adding IET to their own practice, priced at $900 with a $100 deposit. Details are on the practitioner training page. If you want the background first, there is a longer explainer on what IET is and how it works.
At the Lindenhurst office on North Wellwood Avenue, inside The Balance Health and Wellness Center. Clients travel in from across the Town of Babylon and the wider South Shore.
